Two sub-inspectors including an investigating officer (IO) have been suspended over harassing an under trial prisoner (UTP) detained suspect who was on judicial remand over charges of swindling a woman.
Following the orders from CPO Ahsan Yonus, New Town SDPO Taimur Khan went to Sadiqabad Police Station on Monday night and collected facts to compile the inquiry report.
As per the inquiry report, Sub-Inspector Mubashir threatened the suspect, Imran, while IO in the case, Sub-Inspector Sikandar Nawaz tried to influence the case investigation.
On the basis of the inquiry report, Rawal SP Mazhar Iqbal suspended both police personnel.
