MULTAN:

Pre-qualification process of registration of mills to provide flour to the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) for next year 2021 will be held on December 28.

USC Multan Regional Manager Imtiaz Khan said on Saturday that the department would provide wheat to registered flour mills after completion of the pre-qualification process.

The wheat would be taken from Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (PASSCO), while the flour mills would be bound to provide flour to the USC after grinding for sale at its sales points.

The department will pay transportation and service charges to the flour mills. The official said the interested flour mills from Multan had been directed to get the related forms from the USC office in the Industrial Estate area and submit them after filling them.

Imtiaz Khan said the availability of essential items was being ensured at Utility Stores across the region to facilitate the people. He said the USC mobile vans were also providing essential items to citizens on subsidised rates on various routes where USC outlets were not available.

Three vans were ensuring services on a daily basis across the district, he said. He added that the number of vans could be increased in case of public demand.
