Women and children took to the streets in Kalat to protest against the disruption of electricity and gas supply in their areas.
They blocked the roads for all kinds of traffic as they chanted slogans against Qesco and Sui Gas officials, alleging that they have failed to supply electricity and gas to consumers in Kalat.
Both the companies have been collecting free bills from the citizens of Kalat for the last ten years but gas is not being provided due to incompetence of Qesco officials in Kalat.
“If Qesco does not change its attitude, the people will continue to protest against them,” protestors said.
They demanded a stop against the repeated tripping and deliberate topping of feeders by Qesco officials.
“Even though Qesco was receiving millions of rupees from the Balochistan budget in the form of subsidies but they completely failed to supply electricity to the people of Kalat,” the protestors added.
