Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal lashed out at the opposition parties over the fencing process of Gwadar, saying the leaders were politicising it by making it an issue.
“The opposition leaders make every issue controversial as earlier they have discussed the fencing at Saindak, PSDP and border but later a silence is maintained on the issue,” said the chief minister in a statement on Saturday. He maintained the process was being politicised.
The chief minister further said the Gwadar fencing was a part of Gwadar Safe Keeping Enclosure and Gwadar Smart City.
“The enclosure is being built across a mountain range at the back of the city and it will be a temporary enclosure until its completion,” said the chief minister, adding there was a big difference between fencing and the stated process.
Defending the fencing process, the chief minister rhetorically asked “Isn’t Gwadar port fenced? Ain’t a park, BRC, a university or a national park being fenced?”
Lamenting on the opposition’s reaction, Kamal said it was considered permissible to install fences for the maintenance of private hunting grounds but an action to monitor and improve the Gwadar city was being made an issue.
