Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan has censured the Indian troops for attacking a UN vehicle on the Pakistani side of Line of Control (LoC), describing it a “crude attempt” to divert attention from human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
“We condemn Indian aggressive action to target a UN vehicle on this side of Line of Control by Indian forces. It is a crude attempt to hide its crimes in IIOJK and to divert attention from what’s happening in IIOJK and at LoC. India has lost credibility. Such manoeuvres won’t work,” President Masood said in a tweet on Saturday.
He said that India is using such tactics to frighten the UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) and to prevent them from observing ceasefire violations by its forces and report the same to the UN secretary-general.
The AJK president also expressed serious concern over Indian government’s move to build first military settlement in Budgam district of the IIOJK where ex-servicemen who had massacred Kashmiris would be settled.
He said that India had already constructed two military settlements in Occupied Jammu region, but it had so far failed to build such settlements in Occupied Kashmir because of opposition by the political parties and the freedom groups.
However, he maintained that now the revenue department of the occupied region had expedited the process to transfer 200 kanals (25 acres) agricultural land to the military officials for this purpose.
The president said that the latest move by the Indian government has validated his apprehensions that India under well-thought-out planning was swiftly acting to grab the lands of Kashmiris in order to turn the whole IIOJK into its colony.
“The construction of such settlements would not only pave the way for turning IIOJK into an Indian colony but under its garb, the fanatics of RSS and other Hindu groups would also be brought and settled in the occupied valley in order to arm them and later use them for massacring the Kashmiri people,” he added.
The state president further added that because of the blockage of internet service in IIOJK, thousands of students are unable to appear for examinations being held online in the wake of novel coronavirus outbreak.
