Asad Umar tests positive for coronavirus

Says he is isolating at home

Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives Asad Umar tested positive for coronavirus on Friday.

The planning minister took to Twitter to announce that he had tested positive for the virus and is isolating at home.

Pakistan on Wednesday reported 105 Covid-19 related deaths, the highest it has seen since June.

Pakistan passed the grim milestone of more than 9,000 deaths on December 17, with thousands across the country under smart lockdowns as the nation grapples with the second wave of the pandemic.

Prime Minister Imran Khan and other government officials have repeatedly urged the masses to exercise extreme caution and adhere to Covid-19 SOPs to mitigate the spread of the virus.
