Ayesha Omar recalls brush with death five years on

Actor is now grateful for surviving 2020 after surviving an accident in 2015 against two trucks

Entertainment Desk December 18, 2020

Actor Ayesha Omar had a brush with death in December 2015 with her friend and co-actor Azfar Rehman. The two were travelling from Karachi to Hyderabad to a clothing brand’s store launch, which she says she only agreed to attend because her good friends Azfar and Anoushey Ashraf were also invited.

Their fun road trip came to an abrupt end when they met with an accident near Jamshoro. In an attempt to avoid collision with an oncoming trailer truck, their car was hit by another truck from behind before it went on to eventually hit the truck ahead.

Azfar’s driver remained unhurt while Azfar received a gash on his head and Ayesha broke her collar bone.

So five years on, the starlet once again marks the incident as the moment that changed her life.

“I’ve been whining and complaining to myself the last few days about having to manage stuff completely on my own, not getting enough sleep and rest, having to juggle too many things while dealing with lingering allergies for the past 3 weeks,” she wrote in her latest Instagram post.

The Bulbulay actor went on to express how her muscles and target areas, which were affected by the accident, had become more stiff and painful during the winters. “But in comparison to what I went through this evening [five years ago], emotionally, physically and mentally, 6 pm onwards, on that dark, broken highway, how I survived those seven hours until I finally reached a hospital, the weeks and months that followed, all of this seems so trivial, so easy,” relayed Ayesha as she expressed gratitude towards her new life.

“I’d take this any day, with open arms and boundless gratitude,” she continued. “Today, I’m just grateful to be alive, healthy and well, surrounded by people who love me, grateful for having made it through that ordeal and many others,” the YouTuber went on.

She expressed feeling happy for making it through this year as well, provided the anxiety, stress, pain and suffering it induced to some with the ongoing pandemic. “I could not be more thankful. Kisses and love for all of you. Prayers for all those suffering and for the ones who have lost loved ones,” continued the actor.

“Healing vibes for all those who are trying to recover, may Allah bless and protect us all. May the force be with us, always! P.s Azfar Rehman, you’re in my thoughts today. Miss you so much meri jaan (my life),” concluded Ayesha.
