The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Operation-II Police claimed on Wednesday to have arrested a target killer, affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London, and to have found a TT pistol loaded magazine in his possesion during an operation near Old Sabzi Mandi on University Road.
According to CTD Inspector Syed Sarfaraz, the arrested man, identified as Adnan Marwari alias AD Danish, had been the in-charge of the MQM-L- affiliated dead squad in Lyari, Sector-29.
"Marwari has confessed during interrogation to have killed 27 members of the Sunni Tehreek with the assistance of accomplices," the inspector said. His accomplices include sector in-charge Asif Siddiqui, Nasir Khan, Amin alias 125, Shahdad Alam and Parvez, union council in-charge Nadeem Khan, party in-charge Faisal alias Mullah Party, rabita committee in-charge Muneer, added Inspector Sarfaraz.
He said the CTD had registered a case pertaining to possession of illegal weapons against Marwari and launched investigations.
Marwari is booked in several other cases, the inspector said.
