Three held as Customs seizes goods

Drugs enforcement cell intercepts parcel containing 18 antique coins being sent to Brazil

Customs officials claimed on Tuesday to have arrested three people and seized goods worth millions of rupees during separate interceptions at Jinnah International Airport over the past three days.

A passenger travelling from Karachi to Dubai was searched by officials after passing through the Airport Security Force and Anti-Narcotics Force checkpoints. They found 1 kilogramme of silver and 110 grammes of gold concealed in his baggage.

Moreover, Customs officers arrested two passengers who had arrived from Dubai, confiscating goods worth more than Rs10 million, including watches, mobile phones, sunglasses and other electronic items, from them.

Separately, the Customs drugs enforcement cell intercepted a parcel at the International Mail Office and seized 18 antique coins. The parcel was being dispatched from the North Nazimabad locality to Brazil.

Furthermore, during separate operations in the last two days, the Customs officials claimed to have seized goods worth around Rs5 million, including bottles of liquor.

The arrested suspects have been booked in cases.
