‘Rs600b package to raise living standards of people’

Balochistan chief secretary promises new era of development will begin in region

Balochistan Chief Secretary Capt (retd) Fazeel Asghar on Sunday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced a development package of Rs600 billion for nine districts of South Balochistan to raise the living standards of the local people.

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting on development projects in South Balochistan.

“Not only will the people of these districts prosper but a new era of development will begin in the region,” he said.

The chief secretary added that the development projects include provision of best health facilities to the people, construction of Nursing Residential Colleges in different districts, establishment of marble, chromite, granite industries, road network and other important projects in the package.

“In addition, dams will also be constructed to meet the water needs of the people because agriculture is an important source of livelihood for the local people in the province,” Asghar said. “A tele-education facility would also be provided to the children of South Balochistan for providing quality education.”

He highlighted how the completion of development projects in these districts would change the destiny of the locals. “The prime minister of Pakistan is serious about the welfare of the people of the province.”

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Development Abdul Saboor Kakar, Secretary Finance Noorul Haq Baloch, Secretary Agriculture Qambar Dashti, Secretary Implementation Abdullah Khan and other federal government officials through video link.
