Private educational institutions have demanded reopening of educational institutions on January 11

ISLAMABAD:

The federal government has decided to give relief to private educational institutions affected by the lockdown and the extended winter vacations due to novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

In a meeting between the top officers of the ministry of federal education and professional training and the representatives of private schools owners, it was decided to give interest-free loans to low fee private schools and extend the registration of schools by a year.

It was also decided to extend the deadline for sending admissions to the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) and allow one day a week to call children to schools.

On the other hand, private educational institutions have demanded reopening of educational institutions on January 11.

Federal Education Ministry Secretary Farah Hamid, PEIRA Chairperson Zia Batool met with a delegation of private schools’ bodies.

The federal secretary assured the delegation that the government will do everything possible for the betterment of private educational institutions.
