Intelligence official left ‘murder evidence’ to obtain benefits from dept

The drama of the murder of an intelligence agency employee five days ago was exposed on Monday. Police arrested the intelligence official and began questioning him for staging the fake death reportedly to gain departmental benefits.

As per details obtained by The Express Tribune, 31-year-old Mohammad Mansab, son of Shaqa Mohammad, who was on duty in Jhelum, living in Millat Town area, caught a drug addict, killed him and set his body on fire.

Mansab later dumped the body near 157GB, Ganna Gojra and threw his ID card near the body and disappeared. It was claimed by his family that this was the body of Mansab. A day after the murder, Mansab activated a SIM from Deedar Singh Fort in Gujranwala.

When he received the SMS of the SIM on his mobile phone, the police started the investigation in the light of the SMS which was when the fake death situation emerged.

After the incident, Mansab travelled to Gujranwala then went to Data Darbar, Sial Sharif. After coming from there, he was sleeping in a house in Millat Town when SHO Afzal Cheema along with police personnel raided the location of the mobile phone and arrested Mansab.

Police began the process of interrogating him.

The arrested officer said that he divorced his first wife in March and contracted a second marriage with Kiran.

He claimed that he did not get leaves from his office, which is why he staged the whole drama so that he will live in an unknown place after receiving the benefits from the department. Police were interrogating Mansab after taking him at an unknown location.
