Constable held for armed robbery

Sources says the constable is considered a confidante of the Sadiqabad police station SHO

RAWALPINDI:

Rawat police on Sunday arrested a constable who robbed a car and valuables from a ride-hailing service driver at gunpoint in a private housing society.

Rawat police had registered a car snatching case against unidentified suspects on the complaint of a citizen, Syed Haroon.

Later during the identification parade, the complainant identified Sadiqabad Police Constable Yasir as the man who had robbed him.

Haroon had informed Rawat police that a customer booked a ride giving location of a private housing society. As the complainant reached the location, the suspect snatched his car, two cell phones, and Rs7,000 at gunpoint.

Sources said that the constable is considered a confidante of the Sadiqabad police station SHO.
