With the federal capital a water-stressed area, the apex civic authority of the city has started cracking down over the wastage of water in the city.
In this regard, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday said that they have issued over 30 notices to residents over wasting water in the past three weeks.
A spokesperson for the authority said that the notices asked residents to take corrective measures and to submit documents to the authority about those measures.
Should they fail to comply, the official said that the authority will be forced to take strict action against such people under the Islamabad Capital Territory Municipal By-Laws of 1969.
Moreover, the official said that the water supply department of the authority has been working to improve water supply in the city. In this regard, they have repaired pipelines at 50 locations, 20 tube-wells, and motors. Further, the tankers and bowsers of the department have been operating nearly around the clock to provide water to residents.
Over the past three weeks, the department, he said had restored water supply in several areas of the city including the Margalla Hills National Park, Rawal Dam, Humak town and Sectors H-9, H-10, G-6, G-11, G-9, G-10, F-6, F-7, F-8, F-9, F-10, I-9, I-10 and H-10.
