KARACHI:

Two people were killed in separate incidents, supposedly motivated by personal enmity, in the city.

A man was stabbed to death in Kohat Colony on Sunday in what the police believe to be an incident of personal enmity. The unidentified perpetrators escaped and the victim, identified as Babarul Haq, 32, succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to the hospital.

The body was handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities.

Separately, on Saturday night, a man was shot and injured near Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital and succumbed to his injuries while being taken inside the health facility. According to the police, the deceased, identified as Gul, 45, was walking with his friend when a man approached them and opened fire at him. The friend attempted to catch the assailant but he escaped.

According to Eidgah SHO Nadeem Haider, a case was registered against a named suspect on behalf of the deceased's friend. The SHO said Gul hailed from Bajaur and had fled to Karachi after killing the nominated suspect's father a year ago. The body was handed over to the heirs after the completion of medico-legal formalities, while the police launched a search for the suspect.
