PESHAWAR:

Students hailing from the remote Chitral valley on Saturday staged a protest against the assistant provost and registrar of the University of Peshawar for forcing them out of the hostels on the pretext of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The protesters claimed that brute force had been used against students who had been living in the university’s hostels and told to go home because the facility was being shut down given the second wave of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.Demanding that the university officials and police personnel responsible for manhandling students should be held accountable for their excesses, the students said that if they return to their remote areas they will not be able to continue with their studies.
