SOPs being drafted for marriage halls

Marquees with required ventilation system may be allowed to continue holding functions

Marquees with required ventilation system should be allowed to continue holding functions without any hindrance while standard operating procedures will be prepared to allow function in a wedding hall, subject to their approval from NCOC, The Express Tribune has learnt.

Punjab Chief Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik, on Thursday, met with a delegation of the Marriage Halls Association at the Civil Secretariat in connection with the implementation of SOPs for the prevention of coronavirus.

During the course of the meeting, according to CS office, it was established marquees where two side curtain walls can be lifted or removed, for proper ventilation can continue holding functions. As per the CS office, there was no ban on holding events in marques.

During the chief secretary said that as per the directives of the prime minister, the provincial government is taking steps to keep businesses running with precautions during the second wave of Covid-19 but no compromise could be made on the protection of people’s health and lives.
