Decorated football player Diego Armando Maradona, died on Wednesday less than a month after his 60th birthday. Maradona had died after suffering a heart attack at his home in the suburbs of Buenos Aires, those close to him confirmed. Argentine President Alberto Fernandez declared three days of national mourning.
Worshipped like a god for his genius and craftsmanship in the game, people from all across the globe mourned his death. Public figures including those from Pakistan took to social media to celebrate the late legend's career and pay their respects. "Easily the greatest footballer to grace the pitch ever. Diego Maradona is the man my generation will always identify the sport with. You shined the brightest. May you find peace in the other world. Goodbye, legend," Actor Adnan Siddiqui said.

Superstar actor Bilal Ashraf shared artwork depicting Maradona as an angel. "You will be missed Maradona," Ashraf wrote in the caption alongside.

Expressing similar sentiments, his co-stars from Janaan Armeena Khan and Ali Rehman Khan wrote, "R.I.P Diego Armando Maradona A big loss indeed," and "RIP legend," respectively.

Yasir Hussain with his usual wit went on to talk about how football is at loss without Maradona. " Aaj soccer yateem ho gaya (Today soccer has become an orphan)," Hussain he said.
