He said the government, in line with its vision of Digital Pakistan, gave the highest priority to the issues faced by the telecom sector, particularly spectrum requirement.

The minister emphasised that the Rolling Spectrum Strategy would be helpful to telecom companies in formulating their business plans. “It will also form the basis for 5G technology in the country.”

Haque pointed out that steps were being taken for the promotion of IT and telecom sector in the country. “Transparency is vital in the spectrum auction,” he stressed. The minister highlighted that the provision of broadband services was the topmost priority of the IT ministry.
