Mercury drops to freezing point as Galyat receives first snowfall

Due to severe cold, locals as well as tourists are confined to their houses and hotels

Mercury dropped to below freezing point in Galyat including Murree after the mountainous region received its first snowfall of the winter season.

Due to the severe cold weather, locals as well as tourists were confined to their own houses and hotels. However, many were seen enjoying the weather and picturesque locations with coffee, tea, soups and dry fruits.

Power outages, on the other hand, continued in different areas of Galyat as local residents complained about the negligence of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA).

 

People were seen protesting in different areas of the region including Kuzagali, Khanspur Road, Bakote Nathia Gali Road, Tajwal Road, Sawar Gali Road and Boi Road.

 

A large number of tourists every year visit the stunning locations in Galyat which is famous for its snowfall.

However, due to the unavailability of proper facilities for locals as well as tourists, many face hardships.

 

Meanwhile, many tourists were spotted on Murree's famous Mall Road and other famous tourists' destinations. Some however preferred the comfort of their hotel rooms due to the severe cold.

Many were seen drinking hot drinks, soup, dry fruits to keep their bodies warm.
