LAHORE:

The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Tuesday urged the government to review the marriage halls closure decision in order to save more than 50 industries and jobs of millions of workers. Speaking at a press conference, LCCI President Mian Tariq Misbah, Senior Vice President Muhammad Nasir Hameed Khan, Vice President Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry said the closure of marriage halls would not only affect the industry but would also put employment of millions of workers at stake. They asked the government to reconsider the decision on shutting marriage halls from November 20. “It will be a chain reaction as more than 50 allied industries will be affected badly, therefore, the government should withdraw the decision of marriage halls closure in the larger interest of the economy,” they said.
