Hazara Commissioner Riaz Khan Mehsud on Sunday established 477 sales points in the division for 2,688 metric tonnes of imported sugar on a discounted rate of Rs87.5 per kilogramme (kg) from Rs104 earlier.
A total quota of 20,000 metric tonnes of imported sugar for Hazara is being distributed through special points monitored by the respective district administration and officials of the food department.
The distribution is monitored by special teams constituted by the commissioner. Additionally, other edibles were also provided at lower rates at Sasta Bazaars. Flour is being sold for Rs860 per 20kg bag while meat, pulses, cooking oil and vegetables were available at lower rates at the bazaars established by divisional and district administrations of Abbottabad, Mansehra and Haripur.
The authorities, with the caoordination of Utility Stores Corporation, will launch mobile utility stores in all districts under the Hazara Division, providing groceries to people’s doorstep at reasonable rates.
