Actor Bilal Abbas Khan has revealed that he recently binge-watched Mirzapur and Shah Rukh Khan is his inspiration, according to Socialnews XYZ.
"While it is quite tough for me to choose one actor or film that inspires me the most, as an artist I would say that observing the performances of several Indian actors inspires me,” the Ek Jhooti Love Story star told IANS in a recent interview,
He then confessed, "I watched the new season of the web series Mirzapur, and I just loved the story and the acting of those in the show. They are such fine performers. Watching such good acting inspires us to refine our craft. I was waiting for the release of the show and when it did, I watched it in one go! I loved Mirzapur!"
On his favourite actor, Abbas laughed and said, "Obviously Shah Rukh Khan, yeh koi poochhne ki baat hai (How is that even a question)? I love SRK! There are several films that I loved watching SRK in but my all-time favourite was Chak De! India."
And while his Ek Jhooti Love Story streams on ZEE5, Bilal is gearing up for the release of his second web series with the Indian OTT platform titled, Abdullahpur Ka Devdas.
The actor spilled the beans on this upcoming venture, "It is a male-centric love story in which I am playing the title role of Devdas. The story is set in a village named Abdullahpur." So did Abbas also watch SRK's Devdas for inspiration? "I watched Devdas but my character is different, so there is no reference point. SRK's Devdas is on a different level altogether," he said.
But he went on to admit that since he is an SRK fan, playing a character named Devdas was proof of his fandom.
In an earlier interview with The Express Tribune, Abbas had defined Abduallahpur Ka Devdas as a romantic drama written by Shahid Dogar and directed by Anjum Shehzad, with him co-starring Anoushay Abbasi and Sarah Khan.
Nevertheless, the actor's Ek Jhoothi Love Story is available for streaming on Zee5. Directed by Mehreen Jabbar, the show stars Abbas alongside Madiha Imam.
