Hira Mani and the spiritual connection with Kashf

Actor feels her role as a spiritual leader left a deep impression on her personality

Hira Mani paved her way into the drama industry, one show at a time. She has been lauded over the years for her acting prowess and careful choice of roles.

Recently the actor came into the limelight for her role as a spiritual guide in Kashf, which she feels is her toughest feat to date.

In a recent interview with BBC Asian Network, Hira shared how Kashf wasn't a role any actor could essay. "Not everyone could have done justice to a role like Kashf. The character is not just an achievement for me as an actor but it also helped me connect with Allah. I have prayed in this show and found peace while crying in front of God," she said.

Hira's role as Kashf has been somewhat of a spiritual calling. This, she says, will stay with her. "In my previous roles such as Do Bol, Dil Mom Ka Diya or Meray Paas Tum Ho - on the new set, I would change my wardrobe, and that was it. That was the transformation. But Kashf a role that stayed within me. This wasn't a normal drama, it was a heavy drama. I liked the character itself, I enjoyed it."

Talking about her most prominent role, Hira confessed Kashf has helped her reach unprecedented heights. "Isn't that interesting that my character that was closest to God, has taken me to the highest position? Kashf was my drama and thank God I've succeeded with it."

"I don't really place my characters in comparison to reality because the whole point of dramas is that you are far from reality. The reality is different from what it is shown in the dramas, but this was different" she continued.

Before the light

Regardless of which role brought her close to the divine and which to the audience, Hira has always been grateful for the opportunities she has received.

She received hoards of praises for the role of Hania in the popular show Meray Paas Tum Ho. The actor had then taken to the social media platform as the dramatic ending of the hit show came to a close.

“Now another journey came to an end. Thanks a lot all of you for showering love, watching me and appreciating my work in this beautiful journey)," she wrote on the post.

She went on to write how she will continue to live on in the hearts of Pakistani fans as a heroine. “But I will not leave chasing my fans easily and will continue to live in your hearts as a heroine; sometimes in the role of Tamkinat, and sometimes Hania.”

Amid the controversy over writer Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar's comments on women and the whirlwind of speculation over the ending,  Hira ended things on a lighter note.

Main Phir aongi App ki mohabbat or app ka Piyar samaitney or Hamesha apne Dil main sambhal kay rakhungi (I will come again to collect love and will always keep it in my heart)."

The ending of Kashf was heart touching especially when Kashf’s exhusband in the drama runs and carries Kashf’s janaza. Oh, mere Allah. Myself and my wife were in tears. As I’m writing this comment I’m becoming emotional. Our mood was grim and sad for a couple of days. The drama Kashf stirred our hearts. Hira Mani’s roll was fantastic. May Allah Bless her, and the hero as well, Ameen (Canada).
