Aleem richest MPA, shows ECP data

CM owns assets worth Rs84m, speaker Rs220m, opposition leader Rs410m

While Chief Minister Usman Buzdar owns assets worth Rs84.5 million and Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi Rs220 million, Aleem Khan of PTI is among the richest members of Punjab Assembly with assets of more than Rs1.5 billion.

The financial statements of the lawmakers released by the Election Commission show that Opposition Leader Hamza Shahbaz’s assets are worth Rs410 million and Ali Haider Gilani Rs10 million. The poorest member of Punjab Assembly is Sajida Yousuf. Chief Minister Buzdar owns two luxury cars, four tractors and 20 tolas of gold, but he does not have a business in the country or abroad.

Provincial Minister Aleem Khan owns assets worth more than Rs1.5 billion, but also has Rs740 million due.

Speaker Pervaiz Elahi owns assets worth Rs220 million, Minister Raja Basharat Rs29.3 million and Minister Raja Rashid Hafeez more than Rs110 million. Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Dost Mohammad Mazari’s assets are worth more than Rs21.4 million. His wife has more than a kilohramme of gold.

Punjab Education Minister Murad Rass owns assets worth only Rs2.4 million. He has no business, personal vehicle or gold jewelery. Provincial Minister Ammar Yasir owns assets worth Rs20 million and Yasir Humayun Rs60 million.

Health Minister Yasmeen Rashid owns assets valuing Rs23.9 million and Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed Rs190 million. Sajida Yousuf of PTI has only Rs 217 in her bank account.

Muhammad Muawiyah Azam of Rah-e-Haq Party owns assets worth over Rs6.6 million. Independently elected Jugnu Mohsin owns over Rs440 million along with her Rs230 million of her husband.

Opposition Leader Hamza Shahbaz’s assets are worth over Rs410 million, PML-N leader Owais Leghari Rs110 million, Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman Rs130 million, Rana Mashhood Rs50 million, Khawaja Salman Rafique Rs80 million, Sania Ashiq Rd136,000, Hina Pervaiz Butt Rs76.8 million and Azma Bukhari Rs4.5 million with dues of Rs2 million.
