Sindh sees 620 new Covid-19 cases

Contagion claims 12 more lives, 175 patients recover

With both coronavirus infections and fatalities on the rise again, Sindh reported 620 more Covid-19 cases and 12 more virus-related deaths on Saturday, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. Following this, he said, the coronavirus death toll in the province had climbed to 2,679 and the infection tally to 149,542.

Among the new cases, the CM said, the majority, numbering at 504, belonged to Karachi, while 47 had emerged from Hyderabad, 19 from Sanghar, six each from Shaheed Benazirabad and Thatta, five from Sukkur, four from Larkana, two each from Mirpurkhas and Tando Muhammad Khan and one each from Badin, Jamshoro, Khairpur, Matiari, Shikarpur and Umerkot.

The CM said that 175 patients were reported to have recovered from the contagious diseases on the day, leaving 6,455 active cases, with 6,178 patients in home isolation, four in isolation centres and 273 in hospitals. Of them, he added, 223 are critically ill, including 26 on ventilators.
