Lahore High Court’s (LHC) Justice Ayesha A Malik reserved decision on a plea challenging a notification wherein through Pakistan Medical Commission issued new syllabus for students appearing in Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) despite promising for not doing so. Petitioner Muhammad Haseeb filed a petition through his lawyer Muhammad Amjad Cheema contending that he applied for MDCAT test fulfilling all relevant requirements after respondent (PMC) announced the test would be held on November 15. Being a candidate, he prepared MDCAT test from the old syllabus but on October 7, the respondent PMC issued a notification stating that students may proceed to continue their preparation based on the syllabus of any of the university and there will be no requirement for studying any additional syllabus or material and no new syllabus will be issued by PMC for this year’s MDCAT. But it was astonishing enough that the respondent PMC issued new syllabus which is different and did not match with old one.
