Man shoots son, wife before killing himself
A man allegedly shot himself to death after killing his son and injuring his wife in Qaddafi Town late on Monday night. His son died on the spot, while his wife is said to be in critical condition.
The police shifted the deceased and injured to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities and treatment, respectively.
According to the police, the deceased were identified as Rizwan Abbasi, 55, and his son, 25-year-old Waqas. The injured woman, namely Fatima, was shifted to a ventilator after sustaining critical wounds..
Waqas' friend Ammar informed the police that Rizwan had two wives, of whom Fatima was the first one. He claimed that the family was frequently involved in disputes with each other.
The police stated that Rizwan apparently first shot his wife and son with a pistol, before shooting himself with a repeater gun. They added that they had recovered both the guns and bullet shells from the crime scene.
Further investigation is underway.
