Police claim youth died in accidental gunfire

The father of the victim who died while recording a Tik-Tok when a gun went off accidentally, has registered a case claiming his son was murdered.

Police have registered an FIR under section 302 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

Mehmood Ahmad said his son Dawood dealt in the estate business in a private housing society in Sundar police area. On the day of the incident, he received a call that his son had received a bullet injury and was admitted to a hospital.

Later, his son succumbed to the bullet wound. He continued that his son had received one bullet injury in his head.

An office boy Abdul Rehman was also injured in the incident. A bullet had just grazed his arm.

Mehmood continued that he doubted his son had been murdered.

Police on his complaint registered a murder case and started the investigations.

Earlier, police had claimed that initial investigations suggested that the victims received bullet injuries accidentally.

An investigator shared with The Express Tribune that the initial investigations and circumstantial pieces of evidence suggested that the victim had died accidentally. He continued that the eye-witnesses accounts had also supported this version.

He also went on to say that no motive behind the murder could be ascertained.

He continued that a case has been registered after his father’s insistence.
