The price of 250 grams naan roti has been fixed at Rs20 in Quetta by the Balochistan Directorate of General Industries and chairman district price control committee.
A notification in this regard was released from DG Industries and chairman district price control committee of Quetta on Monday.
According to the notification, the price list of naan roti will be permanently displayed at the tandoor shops.
Nobody will be permitted to sell naan roti at a price higher than the maximum price as per the given notification. It has also been mentioned that defaulters will be punishable under section 13 of the Balochistan essential articles (price control and anti-hoarding) regulations 1977.
If a tandoor shop fails to display the price list at their shop, the owner will be punishable under section 3 of the Balochistan essential article act.
In a bid to lodge a protest against skyrocketing flour prices, tandoors throughout the capital remain closed for the 12th consecutive day.
It is pertinent to mention that a one kilograms of flour is being sold at Rs62 in Quetta currently.
Naeem Khilji, the President of Tandoors Association has demanded the provincial government to fix the rate at Rs30 for 320 grams.
