A man allegedly strangled his wife to death over a domestic dispute in Tandlianwala.
The accused reportedly covered up his crime by hanging the victim’s body from a fan, giving the impression of suicide.
Police handed over the body to the relatives of the deceased after postmortem and registered a case against the four accused. Police also started raids to arrest the suspects.
As per details available with The Express Tribune, 21-year-old Farzana Bibi, a resident of Chak No 450GB, suburb village, was strangled to death by her husband and his family members while she was sleeping. The incident was reportedly the result of a domestic dispute. The body was hung from a fan so that it would not be known that she had been killed.
Farzana's body was found hanging from a fan, her parents informed the police.
Upon receiving the information, senior police officers reached the spot and took the body into their custody. After taking necessary action, they handed the body over to the victim’s heirs.
On the complaint of Farzana's father Reyast Ali, a case was registered against her husband Irfan Ali and others under Section 302/34TP. Police teams launched raids to arrest the accused. Incidents of violence against women, including murder, are on the rise in the province.
On August 22, a man murdered his wife for refusing to allow his second marriage while a brother killed his sister over a dispute on share in family property in Lahore. Reportedly, in Shahdara area, a man allegedly murdered his wife over her refusal to allow his second marriage.
The accused was identified as Shahbaz Umar. He tied the knot with his cousin Noreen Mazhar, 25, two years ago. Meanwhile, the suspect allegedly had developed interest in another woman. The couple had developed differences over the issue. Shahbaz wanted to marry the other woman also, but Noreen did not allow it.
To remove the hurdle in his way of getting married to another woman, the suspect allegedly stabbed his wife to death when they were alone at home. He cut her wrist with a knife.
The suspect later claimed that some unidentified people had barged into the house and murdered her.
Later, when the police included the suspect in the investigations over suspicion, it was revealed that he was the murderer.
On June 9, a man axed to death his sister for contracting love marriage in Okara. The deceased woman was living in Lahore and she had come to visit her parents. Reportedly, Saima Bibi, a resident of Baman Zirin village of Ravi got married to a young man named Azam on which her brother Shafqat got upset.
He was unhappy with his sister's marriage. The deceased had been living in Lahore with her husband Azam. During this time she gave birth to two children.
On the day of the incident, Saima Bibi had come to the village from Lahore to visit her parents where her brother Shafqat took the opportunity to kill her with an axe and then fled.
