Man ‘stabs wife, friend to death’

The bodies of a man and a woman were found in a house in Surjani Town on Wednesday, after allegedly being stabbed to death by the woman's husband.

The deceased were identified as Naheed, 35, and Salman, 24.

According to Surjani Town SHO Rao Nazim, Naheed and Salman, who were said to be friends, had been apparently been killed on the pretext of honour by Naheed's husband, Rashid He said the police had arrested Rashid and recovered the knife used in the double murder.

SHO Nazim stated that Rashid and Naheed had wed 19 years ago, adding that the couple - as well as Salman - used to live in Landhi before the former moved to Surjani Town. He went on to say that Rashid suspected Naheed was in a relationship with Salman and so had decided to move to Surjani Town with her. The SHO added that Rashid allegedly murdered his wife and her friend after finding them at his residence.
