KARACHI:
Pakistan junior hockey team’s winning run lasted just one match after Egypt held them to a 2-2 draw in the second match of the series in Cairo.
Pakistan, who won the opening game 2-1, were made to fight hard for the points in the second. All four goals were scored in the first-half with Waseem Abbas and Mohammad Dilbar contributing for Pakistan.
The second half was a dull affair with the hosts adopting a defensive approach in a bid to avoid conceding. Pakistan made several attempts on goal but to no avail as the score remained locked at 2-2 at the final whistle.
The tourists lead the five-match series 1-0 with the third game to be played today at the same venue.
