Karachi Commissioner Sohail Rajput endorsed on Saturday the formation of a separate authority for carrying out development work in Karachi’s industrial zones and said that the initiative could be considered under the Karachi Transformation Plan.

He said this while addressing a ceremony organised by the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry.

On the occasion, he assured the traders and industrialists that the Sindh government was making all-out efforts to resolve civic issues plaguing the city’s industrial zones and to improve infrastructure in those areas.

He then claimed that many of the civic issues in Korangi Industrial Area had already been resolved through development work carried out under the supervision of the Korangi Industrial Trading Estate (KITE), utilising Rs1.05 million furnished by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

The commissioner said that the execution of Malir Expressway and an elevated road near the Malir River would be started soon.
