Cabinet members to check prices in dists

CM asks ministers, advisers, special assistants to hear public complaints

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has assigned responsibilities to provincial ministers, advisers and special assistants for controlling inflation, monitoring prices of essential commodities and checking Sahulat Bazaars.

The principal secretary to the chief minister has issued a letter in this regard. Chief Minister Buzdar said that ministers, advisers and special assistants would visit markets to review the prices of essential commodities.

They will also check the prices in Sahulat Bazaars and present reports to the Chief Minister's Office. The office-bearers have been directed to hold open courts to hear public complaints during their visits to the districts. They will listen to the problems along with the deputy commissioners and district police officers. The location and schedule of the open courts will be announced in advance.

The ministers, advisers and special assistants have also been directed to visit schools, jails, police stations, hospitals and other government offices during their visits to the districts. They will meet parliamentarians during their visits and get feedback from them on the issues of price control and service delivery.

The chief minister also urged them to carry out surprise visits of relevant places in the districts.
