ISLAMABAD:

According to data revealed by the Islamabad Institute of Policy Research (IPRI) on Thursday, the Indian digital media has been engaging in systematic propaganda against Pakistan that grew exponentially following the 2018 general elections.

The IPRI report reveals that Indian propaganda has been revolving around four key themes: campaigns against Pakistani armed forces, stoking civil unrest within Pakistan, propaganda on Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) and sabotaging the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

According to the data, since August this year, one of the prime targets of the Indian propaganda campaign, especially, has been CPEC Authority Chairman Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa.

The details of the propaganda campaigns were mapped out on the diagram shared by the IPRI on its official Twitter account.

Only a day ago, several Indian news organisations and official Twitter accounts engaged in spreading fake news regarding a 'civil war' breaking out between the Sindh Police and the armed forces.

The country was severely called out by several ministers and digital media analysts, with calls for Twitter's support team to also look into the news and curb the spread of false information on its platform.

Federal Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari also called the Indian media out, tagging Twitter Support's official account in her tweet, claiming they were "deliberately ignoring" the spread of disinformation against Pakistan.
