Drug pushers among 17 suspects held

Police have arrested 17 outlaws, including two drug smugglers, and recovered a huge cache of drugs apart from a stolen bike, liquor and weapons from them.

A police spokesperson said that Industrial Area SP Zubair Ahmed Shaikh had constituted a special anti-drug team under the supervision of DSP Khalid Mehmood Awan and Sabzi Mandi SHO SI Muhammad Iqbal along with other officials.

The team nabbed two suspected drug pushers from Sector I-11/4 and recovered 7.5 kilogrammes hashish from their possession.

The suspects were identified as Shahzad Khan and Sami. During preliminary investigations, the two suspects allegedly confessed to their involvement in drug smuggling activities.

Meanwhile, the Lohibher police arrested a suspected bike lifter Faisal Yaseen and recovered a stolen motorbike from him.

The Koral police arrested Noman Nawaz and allegedly recovered 480 grammes hashish from him. The Khanna police arrested Yasir Khan and recovered an unlicenced 30 bore pistol from him. Similarly, the Bhara Kahu police arrested Oman Sohaib and recovered an unlicenced 30 bore pistol from him.

The Kohsar police arrested two suspects, including a lady, who were allegedly involved in immoral activities. Cases have been registered against the suspects while further investigations are underway.
