ISLAMABAD:

As digital services penetrate all sectors of life across the country, there is a need for quality cybersecurity education to bridge the gap of skilled manpower.

This was stated during the opening ceremony of the first IEEE Annual International Conference on Cyber Warfare and Security (ICCWS) 2020. The two-day virtual conference is being hosted by the National Centre for Cyber Security (NCCS) at the Air University.

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Zaidi said that confidence in the security of our digital lives is becoming more and more important.

Cybersecurity, he said, is a prerequisite of a smart nation and a digital economy. Air University VC Air Marshal (retired) Javaid Ahmed emphasised enhancing quality of cybersecurity education and training.
