PIMS Radiology Department to be upgraded

ISLAMABAD:

The radiology department at the Pakistan Institutes of Medical Sciences (PIMS) is being upgraded. This was disclosed by the Parliamentary Secretary for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Dr Nausheen Hamid on Tuesday while responding to a call-to-attention notice in the National Assembly.

Responding to the notice in parliament, Dr Hamid said that soon, another Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine will be installed at Pakistan Institutes of Medical Sciences (Pims) while Computerised Tomography (CT) scan and mammography machines are being purchased for the hospital.

Dr Hamid further said that there are two MRI machines in the government-run hospitals of the federal capital with one at Pims and other at the National Institute of Rehabilitation of Medicine (NIRM).

The government also plans to install an MRI machine in Poly Clinic.
