Students and parents staged on Tuesday a protest against a private school in Gulshan-e-Iqbal demanding increased tuition fees.

The demonstration was held on the call of Students Parents Federation of Pakistan, with protesters gathering outside the school and demanding legal action against its owners.

“Schools that are still closed should waive of tuition fees and the annual increase in fees should be discontinued,” said a disgruntled parent. The protesters further called for the discontinuation of additional charges collected as part of school fees.

They urged the education minister to take notice of the matter.

The protesters maintained that school administrations had also been violating court orders, pressurising parents to buy course books from shops of their choices.
