NIRM chief, deputy director suspended

The two officers were suspended over directives issued by the National Assembly Standing Committee

ISLAMABAD:

The federal health ministry on Monday suspended the top two officers of the National Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine (NIRM). According to a notification issued by the ministry, NIRM’s Executive Director Dr Shaista Habib, and Deputy Director Dr Mazhar, have been suspended. Their posts have been handed over to the ministry’s Coordination Director Dr Shabana Saleem, a basic pay scale (BPS) grade 19 officer. According to the notification, Dr Saleem will take over the responsibilities of the hospital for three months or until further orders. The two officers were suspended over directives issued by the National Assembly Standing Committee on Health.
