Investment board to expand offices to Karachi, Gwadar

Investors will provide up-to-date information about business opportunities in various sectors

Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT) has decided to expand offices to Karachi and Gwadar to encourage foreign and local investors to benefit from business friendly policies and opportunities offered by the provincial government.

According to a Balochistan government official, the investors would be provided up-to-date information about business opportunities in various sectors of the province by setting up one-window facilitation center in the area.

He added the offices would also facilitate foreign businessmen on visa issues, security, No Objection Certificates (NOCs) and registration.

“The provincial government is providing assistance to industrialists for promotion of business across Balochistan which will ramp up employment opportunities for youth in various sectors,” he said.

Talking about economic development of the province, he said it was a top priority of the Balochistan government for which provision of business-friendly environment was being ensured by officials.

Responding to a query, he said tourism was being introduced as an industry in the province while development of the sector and other industries would further boost revenue of the province.

The provincial government had also announced establishment of Balochistan Mineral Exploration Company aimed at accelerating minerals’ exploration activities in the province. The company would develop mineral resources of the province to boost investors’ confidence and increase investment in the sector.
