FM Qureshi, Saudi minister agree to enhance cooperation in IT sector

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, during a virtual meeting with Saudi Minister for Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah Amer Al-Swaha, has stressed on the need to enhance cooperation in the field of IT.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFa) on Thursday, Qureshi underlined the historic and deep-rooted fraternal ties, which form the basis of enhanced cooperation in all fields between the two countries.

He said that Islamabad and Riyadh shared the focus on the development of information technology, which is the need of the modern digital age.

The foreign minister emphasised the importance of the IT sector, highlighting the fact that both Pakistan and the kingdom had a significant youth bulge in their demography. He added that the two countries have a wide-ranging scope of expanding ties and enhancing collaboration in this field, which could be mutually beneficial for both.

The Saudi minister reciprocated the warm feelings and echoed the sentiments of FM Qureshi, terming Pakistan as a close brotherly country.
