Sindh sees 241 fresh coronavirus cases

As many as 241 fresh Covid-19 cases were reported in the province overnight, said Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali on Wednesday, adding that following this, the province's the infection tally had soared to 140,997.

Moreover, he said, Covid-19 had claimed four more lives, lifting the Covid-19 death toll in Sindh to 2,566.

However, he added, 177 Covid-19 patients regained health overnight, taking the number of total recoveries in the province to 133,651.

The CM said that there were 4,780 active Covid-19 cases in the province, of whom 4,529 were in home isolation, 245 were in hospitals and six in isolation centres.

Speaking of the newly reported cases, he said 145 of them belonged to Karachi, 10 to Naushehro Feroze, seven to Badin, six to Matiari, five to Sanghar, four each to Dadu, Hyderabad and Thatta, three each to Tando Muhammad Khan and Jamshoro, two each to Larkana, Mirpurkhas and Tando Allahyar and one each to Jacobabad, Khairpur, Shaheed Benazirabad and Sukkur.
