Ahad Raza Mir, Sajal Aly attend virtual Green Carpet Fashion Awards
The Green Carpet Fashion Awards (GCFA) went virtual this weekend. The ceremony was streamed on YouTube and honoured “the best of sustainable fashion,” celebrating brands and personalities who make use of both ethical and eco-minded practices, reported Vogue.
Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly became the first Pakistani celebrities to be invited by the GCFA, hosted by Hollywood actor Robert Downey Jr, stated a press release.
“I am proud to support and be a part of the prestigious Green Carpet Fashion Awards 2020 hosted by none other than @robertdowneyjr,” Ahad wrote on his Instagram. “See you there with all your favourite international stars!” he added.
Whereas Sajal shared a similar message, “I am thrilled to be a part of the prestigious Green Carpet Fashion Awards 2020 and support sustainable fashion.”
“GCFA2020 is hosted by none other than @robertdowneyjr. See you there with all your favorite international stars!” she concluded.
Previously held at the world-famous La Scala Square in Milan, GCFA 2020 is one of the most glittering events of Fashion Week, attended by some of the world's most influential people. This year’s event put a spotlight on the names that propagate sustainable fashion around the globe.
Ahad donned a unique outfit by Pakistani artisanal brand Rastah. According to Ahad, the outfit has been “handmade, and hand dyed – not only helping promote local artisans but also creating a near zero carbon footprint.”
Meanwhile Sajal repeated an outfit she wore during her wedding celebrations earlier this year to suit the core subject of the event – sustainability.
