Six-month pregnant teenage victim died due to forcible abortion

Police claimed to have arrested a man who allegedly repeatedly raped his sister-in-law’s teenaged daughter and caused her death during abortion after she became pregnant.

After the separation of the 14-year-old victim’s parents, she was living with her uncle Ghulam Anwar, who allegedly had been sexually assaulting her for a long time.

When the victim was six months pregnant, she was subjected to a forced abortion, after which her condition deteriorated and she was taken out of the city for treatment, where she died.

The body of the girl was taken into custody by Saddar police and the accused Anwar and his wife Sajida Bibi were arrested.

A case was registered on charges of rape and murder of a child. The case is being investigated.

According to residents of the area, the accused Anwar had been molesting the victim for a long time. The victim was living with him and his wife after her parents' separation.

Taking notice of the incident, District Police Officer (DPO) Omar Saeed Malik directed the DSP Saddar to immediately hold an investigation and provide justice to the family.

Incidents of sexual violence were rampant across Punjab.

On October 2, a woman was allegedly raped by two men who had called the victim on the pretext of a job interview in the provincial capital.

When the victim reached the designated location, they took her to a hotel near Lahore Railway Station where the suspects subjected her to sexual violence.

On September 13, three men severely injured a woman who resisted their attempt to rape her four-year-old daughter in Faisalabad. Tandlianwala police shifted the woman to a hospital and registered a case.

On July 16, a man allegedly raped his 12-year-old cousin in Khara village in Okara district. A case was registered against the accused nominated by the complainant. Muhammad Jamil, a resident of Mouza Khara, lodged a complaint in the Saddar Police Station that he went out of his house for work and his wife Shazia Bibi also went to the fields to arrange fodder for the cattle.

The complainant stated his 12-year-old daughter was at home when his nephew Zahid who often came to his house, arrived there and raped his daughter, taking advantage of her being alone.
