Brad Pitt sued by a woman claiming he wooed her for marriage

Pitt's lawyers deny involvement, say the woman was catfished

Hollywood A-Lister Brad Pitt has been sued by a woman for allegedly ripping her off, and also wooing her for marriage, reported Page Six. In an even more bizarre turn, the actor's lawyers insist it was a case of 'cat fishing'.

Kelli Christina, a healthcare CEO from Texas has claimed that she paid Pitt $40,000 to make appearances at events arranged for his Make It Right Foundation. The actor allegedly failed to show up for any, and according to her court statements, made last minute cancellations at each event, promising to show up the "next time".

Not only that, but Christina has also claimed that the pair had a close relationship, wherein Pitt discussed marriage with her, according to court documents acquired by The Post.

Pitt's legal team has maintained that Christina was perhaps scammed by someone posing as Pitt online, according to court papers. The Ocean's Eleven star's lawyers went on to file a motion in a Texas court Wednesday in a bid to dismiss the case. "Neither the Make It Right Entities nor Mr. Pitt entered into an agreement with Plaintiff,” the documents said.

“Rather, as [Christina] herself has acknowledged, it appears [Christina’s] communications about any agreement were apparently with one or more individuals unlawfully posing as – but not in any way affiliated with – defendant online,” they further stated, "By [Christina’s] own admissions, the communications she now alleges to have had with Mr Pitt... were actually between Plaintiff and one or more individuals posing as, in Plaintiff’s words, ‘fake Brad Pitts’ and not in any way affiliated with the Make It Right Foundation.”

While Pitt's representative declined to comment on the situation, according to Page Six, a source close to the case dismissed it as "a sad case of someone who was the victim of an online celebrity internet scam that had nothing to do with the actual celebrity."
