Six more Covid-19 patients pass away in Sindh

As the death toll due to the virus soars to 2,541 in the province

Six more people succumbed to coronavirus overnight in the province, stated Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Thursday, adding that the death toll due to the virus had soared to 2,541 in Sindh.

Shah added that Sindh saw 376 fresh Covid-19 cases reported from the 11,138 samples tested on the day, pushing the provincial virus tally to 139,571.

Meanwhile, the CM said, 4,653 people were currently infected with the virus, of whom 4,347 were in home isolation, 300 were being treated at different hospitals and six were quarantined at isolation centres. Moreover, of these cases, 190 patients were said to be in critical condition, with 21 of them on ventilators.

On the other hand, 264 more patients recovered from the contagious disease overnight, due to which the number of recoveries in Sindh now stands at 132,377.

As many as 207 of the new cases were reported from Karachi alone.
