LAHORE:

Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Ahmed Aziz Tarar has said the new master plan to address the urbanisation needs of Lahore would be prepared within 18 months.

The consultant entrusted with the task of preparing the master plan will be extended all possible support for getting the required information and data from other departments concerned, he added.

“The new master plan will be prepared keeping in view the requirements of development till 2050. Besides Lahore, master plan will be prepared for 49 urban settlements in Sheikhupura, Nankana and Kasur.”

He stated this while speaking to representatives of the consultants shortlisted for preparation of the master plan during a meeting on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by representatives of companies from Singapore, London and Lebanon through video conferencing.

The LDA has shortlisted three consortia that met the eligibility criteria for the preparation of the new Lahore Master Plan 2050. The pre-qualifying consortium included Dar Al-Hindsa (Lebanon), Mine Heart (Singapore) and Nespak (Pakistan). These companies have been issued Request for Proposal for submitting their technical and financial bids. The deadline to submit these documents is October 19.

The DG further further claimed that Lahore will be made the centre of civilisation and prosperous city through the new master plan. A spokesperson for the development authority highlighted that the consultant will be selected under the quality and cost-based selection method and procedures described in the RFP, in accordance with Punjab Procurement Rules 2014.

It is mandatory for proposals to be made using the standard forms of the RFP. Proposals that are not in the prescribed format may be discarded. If any information required in the forms is found missing or written elsewhere, no credit may be given in the relevant section of the evaluation.”
