SEPA raids plastic bag manufacturers
The Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) raided four plastic bag manufacturing units in SITE Industrial Area on Wednesday. The units were manufacturing non-biodegradable bags that are prohibited in the province. The SEPA team took action following the directives of adviser to the Sindh chief minister on climate change and environment Barrister Murtaza Wahab. The Sindh government banned the use, sale, purchase and manufacturing of non-biodegradable plastic bags in the province, stating they were hazardous for human health as well as the environment.
